HAGAR SERVICES COALITION

Hagar focuses on educating and training new leaders to provide fresh perspectives and bold new strategies that address the challenges we face locally, nationally and internationally in today’s world where leadership, community succession planning and change are needed.

2020 Candidate School

Hagar is struck by the dearth of new leaders emerging from our local community to provide fresh perspectives and bold new strategies to address the challenges we face locally, nationally and internationally. The following learning opportunities were developed to pave the way for the next generation of leaders to create an inspiring vision of the future.

iLEAD

The Initiative for Leadership Engagement and Development (iLEAD) is a “call to action” in response to the need for increased voter turnout, better qualified candidates for elected office, greater resident civic participation and the community’s knowledge of how local government works.

AFFORDABLE ACCESS PROMOTION

Greetings,

We’re writing to invite you to partner with us to ensure that all low income households are Connected and Counted! Our ask is that you incorporate the distribution of informational fliers (English and Spanish) into your services, mailings, emails, website, packets or events.

Hagar Services Coalition and El Concilio of San Mateo County have partnered with the statewide non-profit The California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF) whose mission is to close the “Digital Divide” in California through accelerating the adoption of broadband to underserved communities. Our goal is to establish collaborative working relationships with public agencies and organizations that serve low income households in San Mateo County to share information about affordable Internet access options that increase the number of low-income households with Internet services at home. Internet access at home is critical to achieving academic and economic success and to access health and human related services. Students, families, job-seekers, and those seeking medical or other services will all benefit. The current school closures due to (COVID-19) require children to study online at home and parents to work at home. Having Internet access at home is more critical now than ever before.

Attached are new flyers (click here to download) in English and Spanish that include a Comcast and AT&T low-cost limited time offer of two months free. As this is a limited offer, please forward to your constituents, clients and networks as soon as possible!

This year is 2020 Census Count! Let’s combine our work to inform everyone to apply for low cost internet and a computer for their homes to become connected and complete the Census Application online to be counted. It’s important that everyone is both connected and counted!

Please join us to get every household CONNECTED AND COUNTED!
I look forward to receiving your response to the invitation.

Many thanks,
Rose
